Today we're looking at one of the first toys based of of his movie design, Robo-Vision Optimus Prime
I think this toy looks great, like most movie toys he has some sublime techno detail all over him, and that metallic silver paint he has really helps it to pop
And that head sculpt is perfect, it looks really really good, and it even has a long forgotten gimmick, light piping!
It's not the worst backpack I've seen, but that doesn't excuse how ugly it is. It's the worst part about this figure. Thankfully his feet are large enough to not have him fall backwards because of the weight
Prime also includes two smokestack guns that plug into his arms making it look like he's holding them
The posing is pretty alright, it's missing a lot of joints that we're spoiled with these days, but you can still pull off some awesome looking poses
The transformation is a bit annoying to do with how weird it is, it's supposed to have this "auto morph" thing in his legs but it doesn't work anymore so I just have to do it manually
If there's one thing that movie toys excel at its car modes
The details on this mode are absolutely amazing, like the grill and Autobot symbol
